Updates on Advanced Placement (AP) Courses and Exams

The College Board continues to update both AP exam formats and course content. Many exams are now delivered digitally via the Bluebook app, with some combining digital and handwritten components.
In addition to digital delivery, several AP courses are being updated. For example, AP Statistics will have fewer units and adjusted multiple-choice and free-response weighting starting in 2026–27, aligning the course more closely with college-level expectations.
Similarly, the College Board updates other AP courses to reflect changes in teaching and content. AP World Language and Culture exams, for example, are being redesigned to emphasize a common set of skills and authentic cultural tasks, with changes expected no earlier than May 2027.
These updates reflect ongoing efforts to align AP courses with current college-level expectations and teaching practices.

ADMIN TIPS OF THE MONTH

With the year moving quickly, now is a good time to check in on seniors’ progress toward meeting graduation requirements. Touching base with counselors can help ensure any students who may need additional support have time to address requirements before the end of the school year.
Around this time, many schools also begin planning budgets for the upcoming academic year. Reviewing your current spending on curriculum and digital tools can help identify programs that may need renewal and allow you to start allocating funds for next year’s instructional materials.
For current EdTech clients: Don’t forget! Final booklist changes and answers are due to your RGM by April 13th, which means you have about one more month to finalize everything. This is a great time to confirm course offerings, verify ISBNs, titles, and editions with department chairs and teachers, and share those updates with your RGM at EdTech.
